Privacy policy

Who we are

Villagewise is the developer and operator of the Villagewise Android application (package com.villagewise.cocguide). For any privacy question, or to exercise any right described below, contact support@villagewise.net. We answer privacy requests within 30 days.

What we collect, why, and who receives it

DataWhyShared with
Advertising ID and ad interaction data To show ads, which is how the app is funded, and to measure them Google (AdMob)
Install identifier - a random identifier we generate on first launch. It is not your Advertising ID and is not linked to your name. To rate-limit requests fairly across users and to restore an ad-free grant to your device Not shared. Processed for us by Cloudflare.
App version, platform, and the approximate country derived from your IP address by our server To serve the right data and to diagnose faults Not shared. Processed for us by Cloudflare.
Player tag, player name, and clan tag - only if you choose to link a Clash of Clans account To fetch your village, and to send the war notifications you asked for Sent to Supercell's public game API to look up that account. Because our server has no fixed network address, that request is carried to Supercell for us by RoyaleAPI's relay service (cocproxy.royaleapi.dev), which processes it solely to forward it. Not shared with anyone else.
Notification token - only if you turn on push notifications To deliver war and upgrade notifications Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

Your building levels, wall levels, timers and settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. When you return to the app, it checks your clipboard for a Clash of Clans village export so it can offer to import it; clipboard contents are read only while the app is on screen, are used for nothing else, and never leave your device.

We do not collect your precise location. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, calendar, microphone or camera. We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not use it for credit, employment, insurance or lending decisions.

Advertising and your choice

Ads are served by Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before any personalised ad is served, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change that choice at any time from Settings → Privacy options inside the app, where that option is available to you.

Google's handling of advertising data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings at any time.

No in-app purchases

Villagewise contains no in-app purchases, no subscription and no paid tier, so we never collect or process payment information of any kind.

How we protect data

All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS with modern TLS. Our server runs on Cloudflare Workers; data is stored in Cloudflare D1 and is accessible only to the operator through authenticated Cloudflare accounts. Credentials for the Supercell API are held as encrypted server-side secrets and are never present in the app.

Retention

Cached game data expires within 24 hours. Records tied to your install identifier - your linked account tags, notification subscriptions and any ad-free grant - are deleted 12 months after the app last contacts our servers from that install, or sooner if you ask us to delete them. Data held only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.

Deletion

You can delete everything we hold for your install at any time. Use Settings → Delete my data in the app, or visit villagewise.net/delete-data. We complete deletion within 30 days. Uninstalling the app removes all on-device data immediately.

Children

Villagewise is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact support@villagewise.net and we will delete the associated records.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app before the change takes effect. We keep this page at a stable public address; it is never geographically restricted.
